Dr. David Moinina Sengeh is Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, and Chief Innovation Officer for the Government of Sierra Leone. He provides strategic and policy leadership for both the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) and the Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI). The biomechatronics engineer and data scientist who previously worked as a Research Manager at IBM Research Africa holds several patents and is widely published across the education, healthcare, AI and policy domains. Born and raised in Sierra Leone, he received his bachelor’s degree at Harvard University and completed his Ph.D at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. David Moinina Sengeh is also an afrobeat music rapper and clothing designer.
